Today we went to a so-say boot fair (not many boots in evidence) in a cold agricultural building at the end of a long straight road bordering a drainage ditch. I say ditch. More like a mini-canal.
I found a Henning Mankell that we don't have--it was on my list of ones we were looking for--at a mere 50p. Then I bought a hardback of Muir's Historical Atlas: Ancient Medieval and Modern for 20p. It didn't look all that interesting even at that price, but on closer examination it could be a useful resource. I had no idea Mercia was so big, for one thing.
The book's dust jacket is made from paper that looks and feels like an imitation of parchment. Pretty nifty.
Finally I picked up a copy of Hunger by Knut Hamson for 50p. I have no idea what it'll be like.
After that we went on to the local aircraft museum but although they too had books, I didn't buy any.
There were no postcards.
