thelittledogWent into town then to the bookshop (via the dentist) and picked up my dad's birthday present, and also, having finally managed to remember to take it with me, sold the bookshop a duplicate history book for the princely sum of £2, then splurged it all on a couple of secondhand books.
Ancient Penguin SFs. I think someone's collection had been cleared out, as there were a lot of SF Penguins for sale.
The Day It Rained Forever by Ray Bradbury;
The Outward Urge by John Wyndham and Lucas Parkes.
The Wyndham/Parkes is very much the result of The Completist Urge, whereas the Bradbury is Something To Read. Another successful day, and it cost me nothing, unless you count the expense of having bought a book I already had in the first place.
