Recent Acquisitions #5
Sep. 15th, 2013 02:25 amThere isn't much to be said for being dragged into a shabby local town at some ungodly hour to spend the whole day traipsing around while the garage doesn't fix your car, but it can lead to the acquisition of More Books. Which is rarely a bad thing. We also managed to buy the milk-bottle carrier we've been looking for. So not a complete fail.
But gah. We have to go back next week (third Saturday in a row!) to see if they can fix it this time.
Look Back in Hunger by Jo Brand;
Blood on the Altar: The True Story of an Italian Serial Killer by Tobias Jones;
Perverting the Course of Justice by Inspector Gadget;
Wasting Police Time by PC David Copperfield.
The purpose of buying the last two was to inform my time-travel novel. It's not meant to be a police procedural, but I did think I might pick up some useful stuff to throw in there so I could pretend I know what I'm writing about. We'll see.
This book fest can't continue. But oh it's been fun.
