Recent Acquisitions #16
Nov. 26th, 2013 04:42 pmNever let a bookworm loose in a series of charity shops with money in her pocket.
I should be stocked up for the rest of this year by now....
What to do if your team is on a team-building course in the polar regions and their ship sinks....
Shackleton's Way: Leadership Lessons from the Great Antarctic Explorer by Margot Morrell and Stephanie Capparell.
This I simply couldn't resist. Shackleton's explorations as a manual for management. Unbelievable.
Blackmoor by Edward Hogan;
Pavane by Keith Roberts;
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows;
All Sorts and Conditions of Men by Walter Besant;
Pedals and Petticoats: On the road in post-war Europe by Mary Elsy (not my sort of book really but it was buy two get a third free);
Over Nine Waves: A book of Irish Legends by Mary Heaney;
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn;
Himalaya by Michael Palin
and, my order from the local independent bookshop,
Touching The Void by Joe Simpson.
Plus two books I bought for other people and a third that turned out to be an inadvertent duplicate and which will now be repurposed as a gift for someone else.
My bag was rather heavy by the time we turned for home....
